USAAC Important Notice

In accordance with the Secretary of the Army’s Human Resource Organizational Reform Initiative, the US Army Accessions Command cased its colors on 18 January 2012, and the command ceased functions as the higher headquarters for US Army Cadet Command, US Army Recruiting Command, and the Accessions Support Brigade and as the Army’s primary executor of Accessions based marketing, advertising, research, and coordination.  In order to manage the completion of all discontinuance tasks by 30 September 2012, USAAC was re-designated the USAAC Discontinuance Task Force, under the command of Major General Jefforey A. Smith.

Army-wide accessions functions previously performed by US Army Accessions Command were simultaneously transferred to several gaining organizations on 18 January 2012:

The newly created Army Marketing and Research Group assumed responsibility for US Army marketing, advertising and supporting research functions and is assigned to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs as a Field Operating Agency.

The US Army Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 assumed responsibility for Officer and Enlisted Accessions coordination functions.

The US Army Human Resources Command assumed responsibility for Accessions based Information Technology support.

US Army Cadet Command and US Army Recruiting Command were re-assigned to the US Army Training and Doctrine Command as subordinated commands.

The Accessions Support Brigade was re-assigned to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
